Sunday School - 10:45am
Sunday school at Edgehill UMC (sometimes also known as "Edgehill Educational Hour") is an engaging time of conversation, processing, learning and growing. We are often engaged in a member-led book study, and also enjoy other activities such as poetry reading, Lectino Divina, guest speakers, and curriculum themed in mental health, LGBTQ+ affirming care, creation care, and social justice.
Ruth King describes racism as a "heart disease" which can be cured. But how? In Mindful of Race we learn how to mindfully observe, challenge and replace the racist beliefs and attitudes that have been programmed into us in American society. We challenge these beliefs and racial distress through simple and powerful mindfulness techniques discussed in the book. This practice is life-changing.
